Hailey and Justin Bieber have made headlines recently for their relationship. The speculations about their marriage continued after the singer appeared to have unfollowed his wife on social media. The pair recently showed their love in New York City during their latest outing, seemingly shutting down all rumors about marriage struggles.
Amid the rumors and online speculation, a 2024 interview from Hailey surfaced, where she opened up about the negative public perception surrounding her relationship and marriage with Justin
"People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one. ‘Oh, they’re falling apart. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy," She told W Magazine at the time, adding that she has tried to manage the negativity but it still "hurts."
“I used to try to act like it hurts less and less," she explained to the publication. "I’ve tried to think that you get used to it at a certain point, that this is what’s going to be said and this is how people are going to be. But I realize that it doesn’t actually ever hurt any less.”
The couple got engaged in 2018 and got married in 2019. They renewed their vows in 2024 and welcomed their first child in 2024. Hailey also talked about her pregnancy and explained that she "probably could have [hidden] it until the end" but "didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly."
“I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time,” she said. "I didn’t have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff."
"I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life," she declared.
