Lauren Sánchez is in full proud mom mode as she pays a heartfelt tribute to her son Nikko's birthday. The Emmy-winning journalist and Jeff Bezos' fiancée took to Instagram to share a sweet message for her eldest son, whom she shares with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez. In a touching post, Lauren reflected on Nikko's journey from childhood to the independent, adventurous young man he is today.

"From those first mischievous smiles to watching you chart your own path… my heart is full," she wrote, alongside a carousel of photos capturing Nikko through the years—playing sports, traveling, and sharing candid moments with family. "You've always moved to your own rhythm, adventurous, yet always so calm in the middle of a storm, and so hardworking. Your steady grace continues to amaze me."

In 2024, while visiting New York City for her appearance at the 2024 Forbes Power Women's Summit, she took her son on a shopping spree. The pair kept their big smiles while walking around Soho, with Lauren wearing a casual look featuring cargo pants, a black top, white sneakers, and a white Hermès Birkin bag. She completed the look with sunnies. Nikko was wearing wide-leg trousers, a white t-shirt, and black loafers.

Weeks before their NYC outing, Nikko showed his support for Lauren's book, "The Fly Who Flew to Space," published in English and Spanish. "Look who bought a book!!!!!" She wrote on Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of Nikko with the book.

After her book's release, Lauren revealed she has a desire to learn Spanish with her kids. "I am taking Spanish lessons, and my kids are taking lessons because it’s something I crave," she told Elle magazine after sharing details about what she "missed out" growing up. Saying: "The biggest regret I have is not being able to speak fluent Spanish. My mom [didn’t teach me because she] told me she didn’t want me to have an accent, because she thought that would hurt me," she said.

"One thing I think I really missed out on is my grandmother, Elsie, and mother spoke Spanish all the time," she said. "My grandmother was one of the hardest workers I’ve ever seen. She was a housekeeper, and she was a manager at a restaurant," she explained. "She let me work there every once in a while. I got my work ethic from her."

The philanthropist said her grandmother "was a powerhouse, and she would wake me up at five in the morning. I would sleep in the back of her car while she went to her first house to clean. Then she went to the restaurant around 7 a.m.," she said.
