Salma Hayek is a known animal lover, so when her cat Sasha brought an unwelcome present into her home, the actress was left confused about how to handle the situation. On Tuesday, Salma shared a hilarious video of her cat Sasha running into her home with a huge dead bird. "No, no, Sasha, that's murder!!" she says, stressed.
Sasha looked pretty proud of his accomplishment, throwing it around before adorably rubbing his tail on her chair after she scolded him saying, "That's not nice." Confused about what to do next, Hayek's daughter Valentina, came in with a plastic black glove ready to handle the morbid scene.
The 58-year-old decided the best thing was to put the bird outside and let Sasha finish the job. "If you gonna eat what you murder, don't do it inside the house," she tells the fierce hunter. After tossing the bird outside, the Desperado store looked visibly sad saying, "That poor bird, I don't know what else to do."
She explained her conundrum in the caption saying, "If I bury the bird: - Sasha and the dogs will dig it up.- I can’t bring myself to throw it in the trash. On the other hand, it’s in a cat’s nature to hunt, so you can’t be too mad with them. But still. WHAT DOES ONE DO??"
In the comments of the hilarious video were hundreds of her followers explaining that Sasha was bringing her a gift. "But it's your prize, he hunts it for you to eat it, it's the way to thank you," someone wrote, "they say cats bring you food when they think you can't hunt," another added.
Unfortunately for Hayek's peace of mind, Sasha might not actually eat the bird. According to Spruce Pets, it has nothing to do with them being hungry, and it's just their animal instincts. Despite 10,000 years of domestication, their hunting instincts remain strong and aren’t about hunger but rather a mix of instinct and affection. Some cats present their catch as a trophy, a teaching tool, or a gift for their human family.
