The legal drama between Daddy Yankee, his estranged wife, Mireddys González, and her sister, Ayeicha González, has finally reached a turning point. On February 8, Judge Anthony Cuevas issued a ruling, shutting down the singer’s attorneys' request to depose the González sisters. Their legal team had previously filed a managerial letter pushing to have Yankee’s petition dismissed—and it looks like they got their way.

“We concur with the defendant that, after analyzing the stated declaration, this document fulfills the primary objective for which Mr. Ramón Ayala Rodríguez, president of the corporate entities and who has maintained absolute control over them since late December 2024, can achieve the desired transition,” the judge stated in the official order.

The document outlines the agreements that have been in place since December 26, 2024, when a ruling was made. It states that "Mr. Ramón Ayala Rodríguez—the singer’s real name—will assume the presidency of the corporate entities El Cartel Records, Inc. and Los Cangris, Inc."

The second point specifies: "A date of December 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM, was set for a meeting between the parties to carry out all matters related to the transition, including access and different measures, as well as to create any necessary documents for the official change and control of the entities."

Additionally, the document states: “It was agreed that the $75 million present in the accounts of both entities will remain untouched for a period of thirty (30) days while the new control accesses all information. Once there is a full understanding of the corporate finances, subsequent agreements may be reached.”

It also clarifies: “The remaining funds in the accounts will be kept as deposited for ordinary use in business activities, with the guarantee that any transaction exceeding $100,000 must have the authorization of both parties.”

Lastly, it concludes: “Mr. Ramón Ayala, as president of the corporate entities, commits to providing a monthly report to Ms. Mireddys González Castellanos on all financial matters, as well as access to relevant documentation determined as part of corporate activities.”

At the beginning of December, Yankee confirmed in a social media post the rumors of a marital crisis between him and Mireddys. In a brief statement on his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “With a heart full of respect and honesty, I want to share important news about my personal life,” before noting that, through his lawyers, he had responded to Mireddys' divorce petition. Without delving into the reasons behind the decision, he added, “After more than two decades of marriage and many months of trying to save my marriage, which my wife and I shared, today my lawyers respond to the divorce petition received from Mireddys.”

Family struggles & legal battles: The ongoing fallout

Unexpectedly, just a couple of weeks later, the couple reunited—this time at the courthouse in San Juan, Puerto Rico—due to the ongoing legal conflict. He alleged that both Mireddys and her sister had transferred $100 million from the accounts of El Cartel Records and Los Cangris, Inc. to personal accounts, of which he was unaware.

Both the legal situation and personal matters have negatively impacted the singer’s family. His daughter, Jesaaelys, has expressed that the conflict has caused a rift with her father. Meanwhile, reports indicate that his other daughter, Yamilette, has been appointed president of her father’s companies.

On a positive note, Yankee has strengthened his bond with his son, Jeremy, with whom he was recently seen attending a charity event.
