Cameron Diaz is back… but for how long? The 52-year-old actress attended her first movie premiere in 10 years last week for Back In Action, and fans want to see her stay. While she already has two more projects coming out, the Mask star is keeping us on our toes. Diaz was the recent cover star of Vogue México, and it seems like she didn't give the outlet a sure answer on whether she will go back into retirement. "It's not yet clear whether her return to acting will be permanent," the outlet explained.

While the mother of two might not know what she wants to do yet, she made the most of her time out of retirement and just wrapped filming Outcome, a new movie with Keanu Reeves, Matt Bomer, and Jonah Hill (who also wrote and directed). The plot is described on IMDb as "Follows Hollywood star Reef (Reeves) as he is forced to confront his problems and atone for his past after being threatened by a bizarre video footage from his past."

Joining the A-list cast was an easy decision for Diaz because it was a short commitment that didn't take too much time away from her family.  It also reunites her with Reeves after nearly two decades, the actors starred in the 1996 film Feeling Minnesota. “It was an invitation to work with someone I admire. Just a couple of weeks in the city, and I was able to spend every night with my family,” she told Vogue México.

As for the film itself? “It’s crazy,” she teased, noting that we will get to see a more dramatic side of her, explaining she wouldn't call it a comedy, saying it's "maybe a dramedy.” There isn't an official release date but it was previously reported as earliest 2025.

And that’s not all—she’s also returning as Fiona in the popular Shrek installment, hitting theaters in 2026. Fans would have a hard time hearing anyone other than Diaz play Fiona, so fans can rest easy knowing there is at least two more years of entertainment from her.

Family over everything

One thing has always been clear for Diaz - family comes first. That’s been her priority since she stepped away from Hollywood in 2014 after Annie to focus on life with her husband, Benji Madden. She said in an interview that he was actually the one who encouraged her to get back into acting. Now, with two kids, Raddix and Cardinal, Diaz seems to love the role of "mommy" the best.
