Eva Longoria's love for Spain goes deep. It's a bond that she's fostered over the years, spending vacations there, shooting TV shows and documentaries, and becoming immersed in the local culture. As of last year, her relocation to Europe became permanent, with Longoria calling Marbella, a city located in the southern region of Spain, her home.
In an interview with Diario Sur, a Spanish newspaper of the area, Longoria revealed that the mix of activities and amenities that Marbella offers have allowed her to "live her dream."
In the video, it's revealed that Longoria has partnered with the city to encourage its tourism.
"What I've understood is that participating in sports, good food, good weather, good health," says the interviewer in Spanish, listing out some of Longoria's priorities that she's found in Marbella.
"The beach!" interjects Longoria, also speaking perfect Spanish. "Wine!" she says.
"I'm living my dream in Marbella. The first time I arrived here I felt 'Ah, yes. There's something special here.'"
"There's a wonderful energy. There's air, there's the beach, the people, the culture, the lifestyle. It's very different."
Longoria has shared that one of her latest hobbies is padel, a sport that has rapidly grown and developed fanbases across Mexico, the US, and Spain, locations where Longoria spends a large part of her time.
Longoria's partnership with Marbella goes beyond tourism
Longoria presented her partnership with Marbella at the Fitur international tourism fair in Madrid, reports Diario Sur. Her efforts hope to bring more tourism to the area while also doing different forms of volunteer work.
"We're very excited. We've been working with her since the summer," said the director of tourism in Marbella, Laura de Arce, to Diario Sur.
"We think it's an incredible presentation card for what we're looking for, which is top and luxury tourism."
"Eva is the best person to represent us. Someone who lives in Marbella but who also spends a lot of time in Los Angeles and Mexico."
