Khloé Kardashian is reclaiming her narrative. After years of publicized relationships marred by infidelity, the 40-year-old reality star is making it clear she's no longer taking responsibility for her former partners' actions.
During the January 22 episode of her "Khloé in Wonder Land" podcast, Kardashian reflected on her experiences with cheating scandals involving her ex-husband Lamar Odom and ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. The Good American founder revealed how she's managed to find peace by shifting her perspective.
"I know what was done to me was not about me," Khloé shared with guest Jay Shetty. "I know that was about them, and they have past trauma that they've never healed from."
When confronting her exes about their choices, she explained their reasoning often traced back to unresolved personal struggles. "'Oh, my parents or I came from a broken house.' It's always something like that. It's never about the immediate relationship," she noted.
Healing Through Faith and Family
Khloé credits her resilience to her support system and spiritual grounding. "If it wasn't for my family, my core circle, and also my relationship with God… I just learned it wasn't about me," she said.
As a mother of two, True, 6, and son Tatum, 2, Khloé has chosen to reframe her struggles as lessons, not setbacks. "I was used for that person to learn life lessons," she explained, adding that she's always compassionately approached those who hurt her. "No matter what someone did to me, I was never manipulative or trying to do the same thing back," she affirmed, emphasizing her commitment to kindness even under challenging circumstances.
A Complicated Past
Khloé's romantic history has been far from smooth. She married former NBA star Lamar Odom in 2009 after a whirlwind month-long courtship. Their marriage, however, unraveled amid reports of infidelity and substance abuse, leading Khloé to file for divorce in 2013. Despite their separation, Khloé supported Lamar during his 2015 health crisis before finalizing their divorce in 2016.
Her on-and-off relationship with Tristan Thompson began in 2016 and was similarly tumultuous. The couple welcomed True in 2018 amidst infidelity rumors. Despite multiple attempts to reconcile, Khloé ended the relationship in late 2021 after Thompson fathered a child with another woman while expecting her second child.
Reconnecting with Lamar Odom
In a surprising twist, Khloé and Lamar's paths have crossed once again. As teased in the upcoming sixth season of "The Kardashians," the former couple's reunion was orchestrated by Khloé's best friend, Malika Haqq.
Lamar opened up about their reconnection during a January 19 interview on The Kyle & Jackie O Show. "Malika came to me and said, 'I think it's time for you and Khloé to talk,'" he revealed. While the moment was filmed for the reality show, Lamar stressed that rekindling their romance wasn't on the table.
"It would be a blessing to be her friend," Lamar clarified. "So much time has passed. And people change. I think it's healthy sometimes to move on in a healthy way."
Moving Forward
Khloé Kardashian's journey to healing has been about self-reflection and personal growth. At the moment, she is focusing on her children and business.
