Shakira will be kicking off her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour" in Brazil, one of the places where she holds her largest fanbase. In an appearance on the Brazilian program "Domingão com Huck", Shakira revealed why she'd be kicking off the tour in Rio de Janeiro, the bond she shares with her Brazilian fans, and what fans and concert-goers can expect in her coming performances.

"I chose Brazil to kick off my tour because the Brazilian public is so important to me," said Shakira in Portuguese. "Brazil has opened its doors to my music since I was 18-years-old."

"This is now the most important part of my life, my greatest career achievement from all the tours I've done and I want to start in Brazil with the Brazilian public because I need to fill myself with this affection, this love from Brazilians, that way I can begin my tour as God commands," she said.

Why Shakira had to prepare her tour in Mexico

In the interview, Shakira also revealed the dimensions of her new show, which required her to go to Mexico with her team to be able to orchestrate the scope of all that she wants to do while on tour

"It's a show with a gigantic production. So big that we had to tour different stadiums and we couldn't find a location in Miami, where I live, where we could host the rehearsals. All of my personnel has had to travel to Mexico so we could build it there, because it's an incredibly large production. I'm so happy," she said.

Shakira's "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour" kicks off this February 11th, with a Rio de Janeiro show. She'll perform in countries like Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, and conclude her run of shows in the US, where she'll perform in the country's largest stadiums.
