Joe Biden is enjoying his last moments as the current officeholder of the presidency in the United States. Accompanied by his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, the president is sending a message to Americans ahead of Donald Trump's Inauguration.
The Bidens welcomed the former and future president into the White House. He walked hand in hand with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. Earlier today, Joe and Jill shared the final selfie of Biden's term. The pair were all smiles, looking elegant as they prepared for a new political era.
The couple shared a message to Americans ahead of the inauguration. “One more selfie for the road. We love you, America," he shared on his personal X/Twitter account. He also posted a selfie with Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff in front of the White House.
"It has been the honor of our lifetimes to serve you, the American people, the president wrote. For the special occasion, the pair wore color-coordinated looks. He wore a dark blue suit and a purple tie. Meanwhile, Jill wore an all-purple look, including a coat, matching gloves and heels.
Biden has documented his last days in office, sharing some meaningful moments from his presidency on social media. "For me, the People’s House has always been about welcoming everyone. America, thank you for trusting me with this sacred place. I’ve loved opening the doors to the Oval Office wider than ever these past four years," he wrote earlier today.
Over the weekend, the presidential couple spent their time in South Carolina. "On our last full day in office, Jill and I wanted to be in South Carolina. We started this morning in church to reflect on the power of faith. And here at the International African American museum, we reflect on the power of history in redeeming the soul of our nation," the president shared.
