Amber Heard is enjoying her new life in Spain. The actress changed Hollywood for Madrid, a place where she's made it her focus to raise her daughter Oonagh Paige and grow her family, revealing that she's expecting her second child. In a new interview, Heard showed off her Spanish skills and how much she loved the country she's in.
"I love Spain, so much," she said in perfect Spanish to the cameras of "El Gordo y La Flaca," the American Spanish language program. When asked if she wanted to stay in Madrid for longer, she said, "I hope I can do it, yes. I love living here."
Heard was also asked about her pregnancy, a topic she preferred to avoid discussing. "I'm not answering those questions," she said, grabbing her daughter and helping her get down from a vehicle.
Her proficiency in Spanish comes as a shock to many, who don't expect American actors to speak the language so fluently. Throughout her years in Hollywood, Heard revealed that she grew up in Texas surrounded by many Spanish speakers, exposing her to the language from a young age. She also dated various Mexican men, including the filmmaker Alejandro Gomez and the actor Valentino Lanus.
It was in her relationship with Lanus that she had the opportunity to travel much of Mexico and grow more comfortable with her Spanish. The past two years where she's been based in Spain have also likely influenced her dexterity with the language.
Heard's second child
In December of last year, a spokesperson for Heard revealed that she was expecting her second child. It's unknown if Heard will be carrying the child herself or if she's having them via surrogate, as she did with her daughter.
"It is still quite early in the pregnancy, so you will appreciate that we do not want to go into much detail at this stage," said a spokesperson to PEOPLE. "Suffice to say that Amber is delighted both for herself and Oonagh Paige.”
