Kim Kardashian is no stranger to the chaos of wildfire evacuations. However, as devastating wildfires rage across Los Angeles, an old interview of the SKIMS founder is making the rounds on social media, offering a reflective lens on her evolving perspective of what truly matters in the face of such disasters.

In a 2023 episode of "On Purpose with Jay Shetty," Kardashian shared a haunting account of her repeated experiences with wildfire evacuations. The clip, which has resurfaced,d clip comes as the Palisade—which has ravaged over 25,000 acres since January 7—grips the region.

During the interview, Kardashian recounted her shifting priorities over four separate evacuations, each marked by a deeper understanding of what she values most.

"The first time, I packed up my entire shoe and bag closet," she admitted, explaining how sentimentality led her to grab items tied to memories of her late father, Robert Kardashian, and her high school years, alongside high-end designer pieces. Her second evacuation was slightly adjusted: "[I packed] the designer stuff but left some of the clothes. I packed for a hotel for months."

By the third evacuation, Kardashian had reached a turning point. "I don't need them," she said of her beloved collection of bags and shoes. Instead, she focused on irreplaceable items like family photos and mementos, including her childhood blanket and keepsakes for her kids.

However, it was her fourth evacuation that cemented her new mindset. "Leave everything," she stated emphatically. "Me and my babies, that's all I need." Referring to her children — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West — she added, "We're good. Nothing is worth it."

The emotional clip resonates deeply as Southern California battles the catastrophic Palisades Fire, which Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has described as "unprecedented." The blaze, originating in the Santa Monica Mountains, has already consumed 1,500 structures, displaced 150,000 residents, and claimed 24 lives.

A view of damage as firefighters are still battling to control huge wildfires in Los Angeles that have devastated several areas across the second-largest city of the US on January 11, 2025. At least six wildfires are still burning across the Los Angeles County and 11 people have died, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Fueled by relentless winds and dry vegetation, the fire spread terrifyingly, jumping from 10 to 200 acres in just 12 minutes. Iconic landmarks and homes of high-profile residents, including Tina Knowles-Lawson, Adam Brody, Paris Hilton, and Anthony Hopkins, have been reduced to ashes.

Amid mounting criticism of Kardashian's SKIMS promotions during the crisis, the resurfaced interview highlights a deeply personal evolution in her priorities — one shaped by life experiences and "things shaking you to your core."

"Now I'm like, nothing is worth it," Kardashian concluded in the podcast. "Nothing is important." Her words strike a chord as Angelenos confront the harsh realities of loss and survival during one of the most destructive wildfires in the region's history.
