On Tuesday, January 14, Daddy Yankee and his ex-wife Mireddys González faced again in court as part of the legal proceedings over the transfer of the companies they built together. At the appearance, the singer was asked about his current relationship with his daughter Jesaaelys Ayala, who has publicly supported her mother.

The Puerto Rican artist admitted that the divorce has caused a rift between him and Jesaaelys, but affirmed his unconditional love for her. Shortly after these statements, the 28-year-old shared a cryptic message with her 2.2 million followers, and given the ongoing situation with her famous father, fans think it was directed towards him.

On January 15, a day after her parents appeared in the San Juan Court of First Instance at Judge Anthony Cuevas’ request, Jesaaelys reposted a message on her Instagram story about mental health.

"Go to therapy and stop hurting people who love you, because you have unfinished business with yourself," read the text in Spanish, originally published by the @massobrepsicologia account on December 19. Jesaaelys added the phrase “Shout it out” to the post, along with a bold emoji.

Jesaaelys, who also shared an emotional post after Christmas, didn’t elaborate further on her post or clarify whether the words were directed at anyone. However, given her estrangement from her father, many speculated that the message might reflect the family’s ongoing tensions.

After a court session on January 14, Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, explained why Jeremy did not attend. “He was coming, but I told him not to. It was his first time, and he insisted, but I told him it wasn’t necessary,” he told reporters, according to En Casa con Telemundo. Jeremy had been by his father’s side during a prior hearing on December 20.

The “Gasolina” singer was also asked about his relationship with Jesaaelys and admitted it wasn’t at its best. “She is a little torn right now, you can see it, but she is my queen… I saw her coming in, and I told her, 'God bless you, you are my queen.' She will always be,” the artist said. “I know this will bring us closer soon, step by step. We are a family like any other; there are ups and downs, but we will overcome it.”

While Daddy Yankee attended court with only his lawyers, Mireddys arrived with Jesaaelys, as she had during the December hearing. Mireddys addressed the media with an unexpected statement: “I can’t talk much, so the only thing I can tell you is that in due time, I will have the opportunity to speak from the other side of the story and clarify the why of many things,” she said, according to Puerto Rican outlet Primera Hora.
