The 60th Presidential Inauguration is taking place on Monday, January 20th, and a series of events have been planned to celebrate Donald Trump's presidency, starting with St. John’s Church Service Tea at the White House and ending with the Starlight Ball.
The political event is set to have multiple performances, including Carrie Underwood, who was recently unveiled as one of the top musicians to grace the stage at the inauguration. "I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Carrie said in a statement to Variety.
Another artist who is preparing for the important day is Miley Cyrus' dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. The country singer has been added to the lineup, alongside other acts, such as Kid Rock, the Village People, Rascal Flatts, and many more.
Billy Ray previously showed his support for Trump by attending one of his political rallies during his campaign. “Billy Ray Cyrus is here. Where is Billy Ray? He’s around here someplace, and he’s great," the then-Republican candidate said at the time.
Trump also mentioned Miley after recognizing that Billy Ray was in attendance. “He’s a conservative guy. I said, How did you get such a liberal daughter? How did that happen, Billy Ray?” he asked. While the country artist shared his support for Trump, Miley has been known to be an opponent, describing him as a "nightmare" in 2016, before his presidency started in 2017.
Billy Ray also posed for a photo with Trump in August 2024 ahead of the presidential election. "I stand here with former U.S. President Donald J. Trump as a proud AMERICAN," the singer wrote on Facebook. “Some stood through for the red, white and blue. And some had to fall. Some Gave All," he added.
