Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and their family are back home following a tumultuous week of evacuations due to the ongoing Los Angeles County wildfires. The return couldn’t have been more timely, as they celebrated her daughter Esti’s 2nd birthday with a simple yet heartfelt celebration.

“Feeling grateful to be back home,” Teigen shared via her Instagram Story on Monday, along with a photo of a chocolate-frosted cake topped with rainbow sprinkles and two John Cena figurines.

Teigen, 39, admitted that the cake was all she “could muster up” for Esti’s big day, reflecting the emotional toll of their recent evacuation. The model, her husband, John Legend, 46, their four kids, and their pets were forced to flee their home as fires raged across the region. Their daughter Esti’s fascination with John Cena added a personal touch to the celebration. In December 2024, Teigen shared her toddler’s “mysterious” obsession with the WWE superstar.

Teigen and Legend welcomed Esti in January 2023, just seven months after they added son Wren, now 2, to their family via surrogate. The two youngest siblings joined their older sister Luna, 8, and brother Miles, 6. “Chrissy, I think, wants more. I’m one of four, so I’m cool with it,” Legend said, explaining that having a big family has some pros and cons. “I was like, you know, once you get into that zone it’s a lot of folks - especially when you’re traveling, (it) gets difficult.”

He continued, “They have each other, you know. Luna and Miles will be older siblings now and there’s enough of a gap to where we don’t have to micromanage their every moment.”

Just a few days after announcing the arrival of her and John Legend's first child (who was born on April 14), model Chrissy Teigan shared with fans a glimpse at baby Luna Simone. During the evacuation, Teigen documented the surreal experience of packing up her children, pets—including dogs and a bearded dragon—and essentials for a hotel stay. “This is surreal. I’m very scared now,” she wrote alongside a selfie as her family prepared to leave home.

While the wildfires have left a devastating impact—displacing thousands and causing over $50 billion in damages—Teigen’s family is counting its blessings.

Their First Meal After Returning Home

Chrissy Teigen shared her evening in a series of Instagram Stories, starting with a text exchange where she asked John Legend if he had any dinner requests. After welcoming her back home, the couple decided on a homemade meal.

The final result was a flavorful fish dish topped with a savory sauce and rice and vegetables. Chrissy playfully described the meal as "not pretty but oh it's good" and hinted at the sauce being so good it might deserve bottling.
