Riley Keough went through a rebellious phase as a teen that caused a lot of stress for her mother, the late Lisa Marie Presley. Keough is a beloved actress and the sole heir to the Presley estate as the granddaughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. Over the past months, she's been discussing her famous family extensively thanks to her mother's memoir, "From Here to the Great Unknown," which she helped complete.
Keough appeared on the podcast "Call Her Daddy," where she discussed her family and her relationship with her mother. She opened up about her rebellious teenage years, sharing some of the daring things she did when she was younger, including an arrest that her mother had to bail her out from.
Alex Cooper, the podcast's host, asked Keough what was the cause of her arrest. “I can’t say this! My publi—” said Keough, stopping mid-sentence. “It was for breaking and entering," she said, laughing.
Keough elaborated, revealing that she'd gone to a party when she was 14 or 15 at a friend's house. Turns out, the home wasn't owned by her friend, and the group had entered the place illegally and were captured by the police.
“My mom was p---ed,” said Keough, who revealed that she had to call her in Vegas to arrange for her pickup. "I never told anyone this!" she said.
Cooper asked if her mother kept the story from appearing in the press and Keough said, “No, she was like, ‘This is on you, girl.’ [But] luckily it wasn’t in the papers.”
Riley Keough's friendship with Dakota Johnson
Through the interview, Keough also discussed her friendships with some of her friends, including Zoe Kravitz and Dakota Johnson. The latter is one of her closest friends, with the two having known each other since they were teens and even having a band together.
“It was like finding a soulmate,” said Johnson in a previous interview with Vanity Fair. “When I met her, I felt this thing that is so impossible to articulate, growing up in a famous family. There was this solidarity. Understanding.”
