Angelina Jolie has been a Los Angeles resident for a long time. The Hollywood star has not been affected by the ongoing wildfires that have destroyed large parts of the city, including 40,000 acres burned, $14,8 billion in damages, and the loss of multiple historic buildings.

While the actress and filmmaker has not been directly affected by the dangerous situation, many of her friends have lost their homes or have been impacted by the fires.  “Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes or are impacted by the fires,” a source told People.

“She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate," the insider shared. Angelina also talked to a reporter and explained that she will be donating but right now she is focused on helping her friends by hosting them at her home in Los Feliz.

“I will [make donations, but] right now I’m taking care of people close to me and having them at my house," the 'Maria' star said in a video shared by the Daily Mail. Angelina joins the list of celebrities who are helping the evacuees, including Jennifer Garner and Meghan Markle, as the pair have partnered with Chef Jose Andres & World Central Kitchen.

Angelina bought her Los Feliz property in 2017 after her split from Brad Pitt. The mansion was once owned by actor and filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille, one of the most prominent figures in 20th-century Hollywood. Her home has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, a library, a wine cellar, a tea house, a pool, and gardens.

“Since I came to California in 1913, I have never lived anywhere but Hollywood,” DeMille wrote in his Autobiography, published the year of his death. “We have never been lured by Beverly Hills, Bel Air, or other places which have become much more fashionable.”
