The NCAAP Image Awards are an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, which celebrates the best work in film, TV, theater, literature, and music.

Blue received her first nomination for her work in "Mufasa: The Lion King," where she served as the voice of Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala. The role marked for Blue's feature film debut, representing a special moment for her.

She discussed her work in an interview with "Good Morning America," where she was joined by her mother and her little sister Rumi. "If I, like, told my younger self that I was in a movie, I'd never believe myself," she said.

"It's just a really amazing experience, and I feel like everybody that's a part of this is so helpful and supportive."

Blue's onscreen debut was an emotional moment for her family

Beyoncé also discussed her daughter's acting debut and was visibly emotional over seeing her all grown up and tackling her own creative projects. “Seeing Blue as Kiara and hearing her voice come out of that character," she said.

She plays the role of Nala, who is Kiara's mother, adding more layers to the special moment. "It was really hard to focus and do my job after that. I was like, ‘Wait, hold up guys. Y’all gotta give me a second. I have to digest that.’ I’m so proud of her," she said.

Beyoncé received three nominations at the NCAAP Image Awards for her album "Cowboy Carter," including Outstanding Album, Outstanding Female Artist, and Outstanding Soul/R&B song for "16 Carriages".

The 56th NCAAP Image Awards will air on February 22.
