The proceeds were meant to support the Regina Margherita Pediatric Hospital in Turin. As expected, sales were massive, raising over one million euros. However, subsequent investigations revealed that the donations were not directly linked to the sales, and the funds never reached their intended destination, leading to accusations of misleading advertising and a hefty fine from the Italian Competition Authority (AGCOM).

The Italian influencer experienced a media storm of repercussions from this incident. Ferragni encountered backlash from both the media and her audience, losing over 150,000 followers on social media within a few weeks. As a result, she chose to step back from the spotlight temporarily to let the situation calm down. Several brands cut ties with her, including the prominent Italian eyewear company Safilo and the stationery brand Pigma. Even Coca-Cola opted to cancel an advertisement that had already been filmed featuring her.

After months of dealing with fraud allegations, the ‘Pandoro Gate’ situation has finally reached a resolution. Chiara Ferragni has recently struck a deal with consumer associations to compensate those affected. She will donate around “200,000 euros to a mutually agreed-upon organization, focusing on initiatives that aid women who are victims of violence,” according to El País. Additionally, funding will be allocated for both the customers who purchased the dessert and for legal fees. Finally, one of her significant challenges from 2024 has been resolved.

The separation from Fedez and the complexities of their divorce

Another emotional blow struck Ferragni in February 2024 with the announcement of her separation from her husband, rapper Fedez, after six years of marriage and two children together.
