Offset reportedly rang the new year in Dubai alongside model Melanie Jayda, fueling speculation about his love life as he navigates his ongoing divorce from Cardi B.
The Migos rapper performed a series of concerts in Dubai on December 31, January 1, and January 2. On New Year's Eve, he was seen shopping at a Chanel store with Melanie by his side. The images, shared by TMZ, showed the pair keeping it casual. Offset appeared relaxed as they browsed luxury items. Melanie, dressed in a gray halter top and coordinating midi skirt, completed her ensemble with a half-up hairstyle and black sunglasses.
The next day, the duo was spotted together again, with Melanie sporting a striped, skin-tight midi dress and Offset opting for an off-white zip-up hoodie with "army" printed on it paired with black pants.
A Complicated History
This public outing comes five months after Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset, citing irreconcilable differences. At the same time, the pair share nearly seven years of marriage and two children—daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2. Sources close to the couple have described the split as mutual and amicable.
"It's not something that happened overnight," a source told Page Six. "They've grown apart, and that feeling has gotten stronger over time. It's become unavoidable."
Cardi, who confirmed she was single in December 2023, has opened up about the complexity of their relationship. "We think it through because we love each other," she shared with Rolling Stone in May. "It's not even about love. We're best friends."
Despite their ups and downs, Cardi acknowledged the challenges of balancing her career and personal life. "My career comes first, then my kids come second," she said. "Sometimes I don't realize that I'm putting so many things before my relationship."
Looking Forward
The timing of Offset's outing with Melanie has sparked speculation about whether the rapper is ready to move on romantically. Meanwhile, Cardi continues to focus on her music and their family.
The Dominican American rapper welcomed her baby girl on September 12, 2024, and has been focusing on her mental health since giving birth. Sharing her journey on social media, Cardi explained how staying active helps her avoid postpartum depression. "I'm not doing heavy lifting, no muscle straining, squatting none of that… just cardio. Sometimes to avoid postpartum depression, you gotta keep your mind busy, and for me, that's work and staying active," she wrote on X.
Cardi B announced her third pregnancy with Offset on Instagram. "With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You've reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It's so much easier taking life's twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it's worth it to push through!" she wrote.
