Angelina Jolie's brother, James Haven, is a married man. The retired actor married Romi Imbelli, the reality TV star of "The Real L Word," over the summer.
The wedding appears to have been an intimate affair and was attended by some of Haven's closest family, including his dad Jon Voight. Jolie was absent from the celebration, reports Just Jared.
The marriage was confirmed by Imbelli, who shared footage on her Instagram. “In 2024, I married my best friend of 23 years,” she wrote in a black and white photo of herself and Haven.
“The details of our story are too personal and complicated to share now, but I am writing it all in my book. Our wedding day was intimate, just us and our parents while exchanging vows, with plans to have a larger celebration later.”
Imbelli also revealed that the two had a fight the day after their wedding and that they're planning a special celebration with her daughter while also sharing some of the things she's learned over the past year.
“I feel liberated and ready to return to my husband and our home in LA. Everything that has happened in the last few months was all part of a greater plan, and I trust in God’s timing. I will always hold 2024 deeply in my heart. Life is too short. Go out and live it.”
Jolie and Haven's relationship
Jolie and Haven are the kids of Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Over the years, Jolie has discussed her relationship with her brother extensively, even taking him as her date for the 2000 Academy Awards, where she won her first Oscar for the film "Girl Interrupted."
“I don't know if it's divorced families or what it is, but he and I were each other's everything, always, and we've been best friends," said Jolie following her win, per Entertainment Weekly.
In the case of Haven, he's revealed that he has a close relationship with Jolie's kids, and that Shiloh was named after him.
"It's an honor beyond any honor I’ve received in my life. Before I was born I was going to be Shiloh, and at the last second my parents gave me Haven instead," he said to Express. "So it was great when Brad and Angie came to me and said, 'We're thinking of names and our favorite is Shiloh. Would it be okay?' I was almost in tears."
