Melania Trump has shared her thoughts about the incident outside the Trump Las Vegas hotel. The former and future first lady has weighed in on the Tesla Cybertruck explosion, which has been speculated to be an act of terror.
The Las Vegas incident resulted in one person killed and seven others injured after a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, as detailed by city police.
Melania, who is preparing for the presidential inauguration after celebrating the holidays with her family and close friends, took to social media to denounce the violence and share her concern.
"The incidents of violence that have impacted our communities are deeply concerning. The brutality must stop," Melania wrote on Twitter/X. "My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families who are experiencing such profound grief and loss," she added.
"Let us strive for a future where peace prevails," Melania concluded. After the incident, Donald Trump's middle son, Eric, shared more details about the situation.
"Earlier today, a reported electric vehicle fire occurred in the porte cochère of Trump Las Vegas," Eric wrote on social media. "The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Las Vegas Fire Department and local law enforcement for their swift response and professionalism," he added.
Elon Musk also broke his silence after the incident, stating that the design of the Tesla Cybertruck minimized the blast's impact, sparing the hotel from significant damage.
The billionaire stated that whoever was responsible for the attack "picked the wrong vehicle," and suggested that it was "a terrorist attack." "Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken," Musk said.
"We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion," he continued. "Law enforcement currently believes it was most likely intentional."
