Jodie Turner-Smith is seeking financial support from her estranged husband, Joshua Jackson, amid their ongoing divorce proceedings. According to newly filed court documents, the actress claims the "Dawson's Creek" alum has not been paying child support for their 4-year-old daughter, Juno. In the filing submitted on December 23—obtained by TMZ and Us Weekly—Turner-Smith, 38, detailed that Jackson, 46, had assured her during their marriage that she would never have to worry about financial security for their child.

"He promised to always support me and ensured me that I would not have to worry about financial security for our daughter if we ever separated because he said he understood how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother," the "Queen & Slim" star stated.

Turner-Smith, who filed for divorce in late 2023 citing "irreconcilable differences," is now asking for $8,543 per month in child support, retroactive to her initial filing, as well as $28,641 per month in spousal support while the divorce remains unresolved. She also requests $250,000 to cover attorney fees and other legal costs.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, turner-Smith opened up about her split from Jackson. "Sometimes things we really want to work just don't end up working," she said. "And that's OK. The most important thing is that you choose what's healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children."

Following their separation, Jackson was briefly linked to actress Lupita Nyong'o, further fueling public interest in the couple's divorce. After announcing the end of her relationship with Selema Masekela in October 2023, Lupita moved on to Joshua Jackson. A few months later, he was spotted with model Nastassja Roberts.

When Jackson and Lupita started dating, they emerged from long-term relationships. Lupita was later spotted with Jackson at Janelle Monáe’s concert in October. After their sighting, she announced on Instagram that she was no longer dating Masekela

In an Instagram post, she opened up about her “season of heartbreak” caused by “a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.” It was a rare display of vulnerability from Nyong’o, who is notoriously private.

During an interview for Glamour magazine, the Mexican-Kenyan actress said she took to social media to challenge Instagram’s “flex zone” of curated moments.
