Mason Disick, the eldest son of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, has taken a step back from the spotlight after spending most of his childhood as part of the family's reality show. Once a familiar face on TV and social media, Mason, now 15, has been living a more private life—an intentional choice supported by his parents.

On December 14, Kourtney celebrated Mason's 15th birthday alongside his younger brother Reign, who turned 10 the same day, with a nostalgic series of throwback photos on Instagram. Scott also shared glimpses of his celebration with Mason, including the special gift he got for his son. While the glimpses were brief, the heartfelt moments spoke volumes about how much the family treasures their time together—regardless of how much of it is shared with the public.

Growing Up Away from the Cameras

Despite being born into one of the most famous families in the world, Mason has increasingly chosen to step away from the limelight. While he made headlines earlier this year by joining Instagram, Mason's social media presence has remained sporadic and understated.

His decision aligns with Kourtney's parenting philosophy, prioritizing her children's comfort and boundaries over public exposure. "I see comments all the time that I'm never with my kids, and I just don't love to post my kids on social media," Kourtney explained during a 2022 episode of the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast. "They don't love it—sometimes they do."

For Mason, she added, "He doesn't want any part of it. He doesn't love it. I want my kids to be kids. I crave normalcy as much as we can have it."

  Protecting Mason's Privacy

Kourtney has clarified that just because Mason isn't frequently seen doesn't mean he isn't thriving. "Just because he's not in the photo," Kourtney reminded a follower in 2022, "doesn't mean he's not with us."

Kourtney's concern for her son's well-being has been evident since 2020 when she deleted Mason's first Instagram account after he joined the platform without permission. "I think on Instagram the thing that really worries me with kids is comments," she explained. "People can be so mean."

Family Comes First

In addition to Mason, Reign, and their 12-year-old sister Penelope, Kourtney has embraced a blended family with her husband, Travis Barker. Together, they share a 13-month-old son, Rocky Thirteen, and co-parent Travis's children from previous relationships: Landon, 21; Alabama, 18; and Atiana De La Hoya, 25.
