Arnold Schwarzenegger is greying amazingly. The actor and political figure was photographed earlier this week boasting a Christmasy outfit, made up of a cozy sweater and a striking combination of white hair and beard that marks a significant departure from his traditional look.
No, Schwarzenegger isn't going through an abrupt makeover. The actor is playing Santa Claus in the film "The Man with the Bag," which began shooting recently and explains his physical change.
Photos captured on set showed Schwarzenegger hard at work, looking adorable with his white hair and thick beard.
His character's outfit is also on point, made up of a cream-colored Christmas sweater with a red truck and pine trees embroidered in and some khaki pants.
A second photo showed him with a red coat on, painting a clear picture of a more rustic Santa than we're used to yet completely recognizable from the famous Holiday icon.
More details about 'The Man with the Bag'
"The Man with the Bag" is a new and awaited holiday film that's recently begun production. The story follows Santa, whose magic gets stolen. In hopes of recuperating his powers, he seeks a thief to help him out and save Christmas.
Schwarzenegger shared a first look at the project on his Instagram, showing him in his Santa Claus costume alongside Alan Ritchson, his co-star who plays the story's thief.
"Santa Claus is coming to town!" he captioned the post.
"It is fantastic to be shooting The Man with the Bag with @alanritchson. Our director @adamshankman is one of the funniest directors I’ve worked with, New York City is an amazing host, working with @amazonmgmstudios is a joy, and I can’t wait to share all of this Christmas cheer with each and every one of you."
While Schwarzenegger is known for his acting chops, he's starred in various comedies throughout his career, like "Brothers" and "Kindergarten Cop." He also starred in a holiday film called "Jingle All the Way."
