Many celebrities and A-List stars have been forced to evacuate their homes in Malibu amid the dangerous wildfire in Southern California, which has already grown to nearly 3,900 acres with 7% containment. Cher and Dick Van Dyke are two of the stars that are known to have fled the estate with their pets.
"Fire officials said the evacuation order area encompassed about 6,000 people and more than 2,000 structures. The evacuation warning area covered 12,500 people and more than 6,000 structures," ABC7 reported, including road closures apart from the mandatory evacuations and warnings.
The 78-year-old singer and her pets checked into a hotel on Monday night, as revealed by her publicist to the New York Times. Meanwhile, the 98-year-old actor said he had evacuated with his wife.
“Arlene and I have safely evacuated with our animals except for Bobo escaped as we were leaving,” the actor shared on Facebook. “We’re praying he’ll be ok and that our community in Serra Retreat will survive these terrible fires.”
82-year-old star Barbra Streisand is also known to live permanently in her Malibu home. However, she has yet to reveal her location amid the Franklin wildfire, which originated from the Santa Ana winds and low humidity conditions.
Miley Cyrus previously opened up about losing her home after the Woolsey Fire in November 2018. The singer shared the property with her then-husband, Liam Hemsworth. “My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong,” she shared on social media.
“I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now,” she added at the time. Apart from the singer, Neil Young, Robin Thicke, and Gerard Butler have also lost their properties due to fires in the area.
