Apple Martin has gone viral for the second time this week. The daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin recently made her debut at the Debutante Ball, with the event packed with memorable moments from her that people have been sharing on TikTok.
One of her fellow debutantes is addressing comments that paint Martin as a mean girl and is sharing her true feelings on the matter.
Aliénor Loppin de Montmort spoke to PEOPLE magazine, sharing that Martin is "the nicest girl ever.”
She was referring to a TikTok video that has been making the rounds, showing Apple and Aliénor posing for the cameras. The clip shows a moment when Apple begins posing in front of the cameras, with Alienor beside her laughing at her antics.
The video prompted many comments from viewers, who criticized Apple.
"She reminds me of one of Cinderella's stepsisters," wrote someone.
"Every post I've seen of Apple Martin gives off these vibes," wrote a second person.
Aliénor disagreed with these statements. “[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting,” she said.
“She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!"
Martin's other viral moment at the Debutante Ball
Another moment that went viral showed Martin with her date, Count Leo Henckel von Donnersmarck. The clip shows the two gearing up to make their entrance and meet the ball's guests.
As they wait for their turn, von Donnersmarck appears to call Martin to show her a TikTok dance move, prompting an eye roll.
"This actually looks like a scene from a movie. A movie, such as mean girls," reads one of the comments.
Regardless of Martin's behavior, the virality of these clips has made people realize that debutante balls exist and are still a thing, which speaks to Martin's ability to capture the public eye. "Like in the O.C?? This is a real thing??" wrote another viewer.
Other celebrity kids who have been involved in this specific ball include Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe's daughter Ava, Margaret Qualley, Lilly Collins, and more. None have gone viral though.
