Suri Cruise graduated last June, prompting a flurry of activities all over New York. Amidst prom and graduation, Cruise was photographed with one of her classmates, Toby Cohen.
The photos showed the two holding hands and kissing, prompting many to believe that they were a couple. Here's what we know of their relationship.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, Cruise and Cohen broke up over the summer, with the two avoiding contact with each other.
"Suri believed she was in love and wasn’t afraid to show the world, so the breakup was not easy on her, but she has worked through this with the help of her friends," said a source to the publication.
The pair were also friends, something that made the break all the more painful. "They split quietly at the end of summer," continued the source.
"She was good friends with him for a long time so that made it especially hard but she’s a strong young woman."
Cohen is reportedly studying in Boston, at the Berklee College of Music while Cruise is living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she attends Carnegie Mellon University.
Suri Cruise's return to New York
Over the past few months, Cruise has been growing used to living in a new city. Last week she returned to her hometown to spend Thanksgiving with her mom Katie Holmes.
On November 27, she was spotted walking around in Brooklyn, holding onto a coffee and a brown bag that likely contained some pastries. She wore a cozy look made up of navy pants, an olive green puffer, and some camel-colored suede Birkenstocks.
That same day, Holmes was photographed on her way to work at the Barrymore Theater, where she was scheduled to perform a show of "Our Town."
While her daughter's departure from the city was likely difficult to deal with, Holmes seems thrilled with a change of pace for her daughter and for her to get the chance to experience new things. "I remember being her age and experiencing that exciting period of beginnings," she said in an interview with Town & Country.
"It’s so exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time in my life. Thinking of it that way makes me happy."
