When Shakira announced her comeback to touring after a six-year break, she could never have imagined the incredible response from her fans. Tickets for her initial shows were sold out in minutes, leading the star to postpone the kick-off of her tour titled Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. This decision allowed her to expand her production to larger venues. What occurred in Mexico has been truly historic, as the Colombian singer surpassed her own expectations by selling out all seven of her shows at the renowned Estadio GNP Seguros (formerly Foro Sol), breaking the previous record of four sold-out shows set by Taylor Swift at the same venue.

Shakira received recognition from Ocesa, the tour promoter in Mexico, in the form of a commemorative plaque honoring her as the only artist to perform seven consecutive shows at this iconic venue in Mexico City. "Shakira, the global superstar, becomes the first artist in Mexican history to sell out seven consecutive dates at the Estadio GNP Seguros, the country's largest and most iconic venue. This accomplishment positions Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour as a remarkable cultural and musical highlight," the company announced in a press release.

Taylor Swift previously held the record for being the only female artist to sell out four shows at the Estadio GNP Seguros during The Eras Tour, a record that stood for over a year before Shakira broke it with her current tour. Known for her hit Suerte, she will return to perform in the country on March 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, and 30.

Shakira's appreciation for Mexico

Shakira took to her social media to express her excitement about this recognition and what it signifies for her. "I started planning this tour with high hopes because I knew it would be the most significant tour of my career. But what's happening has exceeded everything. I never imagined receiving this plaque declaring that Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has the most shows sold at the Estadio GNP Seguros," she shared on Instagram alongside several photos with her plaque.

The singer was visibly emotional about the love and support from her fans in Mexico, who have been there for her since the early days of her career. "Wow! I'm speechless. What can I say in light of such news? I can only say thank you, thank you, and thank you, and I promise that I will deliver the best concert of my career. Each show will be an unforgettable moment—for you and for me," she concluded.
