More details about Mendes and Cabello's relationship
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello confirmed their relationship in 2019, after some years of speculation. The two dated until 2021, when they shared a statement revealing that they were no longer romantically involved, even if the split was amicable.
In 2023, the two sparked rumors of a reconciliation after being spotted hugging and kissing at Coachella. While the reunion was short, the two were spotted doing different things together, including spending some time in New York.
Cabello addressed the second breakup on the podcast "Call Her Daddy," explaining that the reunion was "impulsive" on her part. Still, she said that she knew pretty quickly that the relationship wasn't a fit.
“You’re just kind of like, it’s not a fit, it doesn’t feel right,” she said. “And I think, luckily, I was in a place in my life where it took me less time to realize that. It took us both less time to be like, ‘This doesn’t feel right and we don’t need to try so hard to make it work. It’s all good.’”
