Jeff Bezos continues making colossal investments, and his latest acquisition in Miami is no exception. Reports have emerged that Bezos, with an alleged net worth of $203.7 billion, has splurged a staggering $90 million on a third mansion on the exclusive Indian Creek Island, further solidifying his status as one of the area’s most prominent residents. This brings his total investment in the prestigious locale, often called the “Billionaire Bunker,” to a jaw-dropping $237 million.
The new addition to Bezos‘ real estate portfolio is a six-bedroom waterfront property next door to wealthy real estate developer Jeff Soffer and close to NFL legend Tom Brady’s lavish new construction. Exclusive aerial images reveal that Bezos, Soffer, and Brady will now form part of a prestigious row of properties facing east towards the pristine sands of Miami Beach.
According to Bloomberg, the billionaire titan behind Amazon secured this latest deal through an off-market transaction, indicative of the discretion and exclusivity of transactions within this elite enclave. The 60-year-old billionaire reportedly plans to utilize this mansion as a temporary residence while demolishing two previously acquired properties on the opposite side of the guard-gated island.
Property records indicate that Bezos‘ newest abode was last sold in 1998 for $2.5 million, with former banker Javier Holtz listed as the previous owner. Despite its modest origins, the property spans an expansive 12,135 square feet and features nine bathrooms, a large front lawn, and waterfront access.
However, despite its considerable size and amenities, Bezos’ latest acquisition pales compared to the opulent estates owned by his soon-to-be neighbors, Soffer and Brady.
Bezos‘ decision to expand his property portfolio in Miami follows his November announcement of relocating from Seattle to Florida. Alongside his fiancée Lauren Sanchez, Bezos will count among his neighbors high-profile figures such as Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and businessman Carl Icahn.
