It was revealed this week that Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner’s love story has come to an end after his wife filed to end their 18-year marriage. Costner is reportedly shocked and does not want the divorce. “It’s disappointing, he loves her, and he loves his children,” a source told Page Six.
Baumgartner, 49, asked for joint custody of their three kids. The couple shares Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace Avery, 12. She is also a stepmom to Costner’s children; he shares Annie, 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35, with Silva. Kevin also has a son named Liam, who is 26, with Bridget Rooney. Get to know his kids below.
Annie Costner
Annie was born on April 15, 1984, and is Kevin’s eldest child. She followed in her dad’s footsteps and pursued a career in the entertainment industry, both in front of and behind the camera. She even had the opportunity to act alongside her father in “Dances With Wolves” and “The Postman.” She has also produced several documentaries through her company Sound Off Films, which she formed in 2014, including Katy Perry’s Witness Tour documentary, per People. In July 2016, Annie got married to a physician named Dr. Danny Coxon at her father’s California estate in Carpinteria. The couple has a four-year-old son, Vincent, and a two-year-old daughter, Vida. She is also a real estate agent for Sotheby’s International in Ojai, Ventura, and Santa Barbara.
Lily Costner
Lily was born on Aug. 4, 1986, and is also an actress. She appeared in several films, including “The Postman” and “Black or White” which Kevin starred and directed. She is also a talented singer, which she inherited from her father. Costner is the lead singer of a band called Kevin Costner & Modern West, which has been featured in the popular show “Yellowstone.” In 2020 Lily joined them for the song, “Heaven’s Gate” which was released on his album Tales From Yellowstone, featuring music from the show.
Joe Costner
Joe is the youngest child of Kevin and Silva. He was born on Jan. 31, 1988, with a similar love of the entertainment industry. He starred in “The Postman” with his father and older sisters but now works as an audio engineer and production sound mixer.
Liam Costner (not pictured)
Liam Costner is 26 and is the result of a brief relationship with Bridget Rooney. Bridget is the niece of the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ then-owner, the late Dan Rooney, per People. Born in November 1996, Liam did not seem to grow up close to his father. Per Amo Mamo, he did grow up with a stepfather. His mother married William Koch, a wealthy investor, and yachtsman. People reported in 2002 that Kevin set up a sizable trust fund for Liam, and visited him “occasionally but not regularly.”
Cayden Costner
Cayden is Christine’s oldest child and was welcomed into the world on May 6, 2007. Kevin was 52 at the time and admitted he was hesitant to have another child, but didn’t want to lose Christine. At 15, there is a long future ahead of him, but Kevin has noted that he has a music appreciation. “He has a couple of little guitars, and he listens to the band and sits on my knee sometimes when I do rough tracks,” he told People.
Hayes Costner
Hayes Logan Costner was born on Feb. 12, 2009, and is 14. He is a baseball player but has shown an interest in acting. Hayes has a small part in Costner’s four-part western epic, Horizon. He told People, “He’s very good … But I kind of did it on purpose, so he could be hanging out with me.”
Grace Costner
The youngest Costner is Grace. The 12-year-old was born on June 2, 2010, and is described by her father as a “girly girl.” “She’s sewing, and she’s dancing, but when she sees the ball bouncing out in the backyard, I can feel her gravitating out with the boys — but everything has to stop when she plays,” he said.
