The Miss Universe organization has revealed their committee for their upcoming pageant. The selection committee is made out of all women who work in various industries, among them, sports, beauty, and music.
The announcement was made on the organization’s official Instagram. “The #71stMISSUNIVERSE Competition will air LIVE around the world on January 14, 2023,” announced the account. “Head to the Miss Universe app (link in bio) and vote your favorite delegate into the semifinals.”
The selection committee will select the winner among 80 candidates that will be participating in the pageant. The event will be hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Ximena Navarrete
Ximena Navarrete is an actress and TV host. She was Miss Universe in the year 2010 and is the second Mexican woman to hold the title.
Big Freedia
Big Freedia is a rapper from New Orleans, who’s worked with performers like Beyonce, Lizzo, and more.
Mara Martin
The American model and athlete will be a part of this year’s Miss Universe.
Wendy Fitzwilliam
Wendy Fitzwilliam was the second Miss Universe to belong from Trinidad and Tobago.
Emily Austin
Sports journalist Emily Austin will also be involved in the judging panel for Miss Universe.
Olivia Quido
The beauty expert and founder of O Skin Med Spa shared her excitement over being involved in the pageant on her Instagram. “I’m so honored and humbled to be given this opportunity. Thank you Miss Universe!” she wrote.
Myrka Dellanos
The actress and Telemundo icon will also be a part of this year’s Miss Universe pageant. “What an honor to be on the selection committee for Miss Universe this year! What an amazing experience. See you all on Saturday night!” she wrote.
