The world is still mourning the death of beloved actress   Olivia Newton-John  who passed away on her ranch in Southern California. Known for starring as Sandy in Grease, the British-Australian singer, actress, and activist has many connections to the name “John.”

The first one is her dad, Brinley “Bryn” Newton-John, who was an MI5 officer; the second is John Travolta, who starred as Olivia’s love interest in Grease; and the third one is her surviving husband, John Easterling.

How did they meet

Olivia and John met in the early 90s through mutual friends. Fifteen years later, after their first encounter, they saw each other again during a trip to the Amazon. They realized they had something special and began dating.

A year later, they got married. Their first ceremony was in Peru’s jungle, and then they took their love to a beach in Florida for a second celebration. “Our relationship was born out of our mutual healing love,” she said.

He is a businessman

John is the founder of the Amazon Herb Company, a natural health product company inspired by the culture of Peru and the Inca treasures. After contracting hepatitis in 1972, he decided to try alternative medicine to eliminate the bothersome symptoms. When he attempted natural remedies from the Amazon jungle, he realized he wanted to share with the world more about plants’ healing properties.

After founding his business, he introduced alternative medicine to Olivia, who was diagnosed with cancer. The businessman himself grew plants to treat his wife’s illness. “My husband hands me all these herbs every morning and makes me a green algae drink,” she told People. “He grows the plants and makes them into liquid for me. I take drops maybe four to five times a day.”
