Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are married! See the couple throughout the years

The actors first met on the set of the FX series “Fargo” in 2015, where they played a married couple. They began dating in 2016.

By 2017 the couple was attending public events together, and she was talking about having kids. “I’m at a stage in my life where I’m like, ‘I’ve been working since I was 3. It’s time to have babies and chill,’” Dunst told Marie Claire U.K. at the time. “I wasn’t one of those ‘I need a baby!’ people until my goddaughter was born. I love her so much. That love is just like … you can’t experience that unless you have a kid.”

2018 was a big year for the couple as they welcomed their first son Ennis in May. “This is the newest guy, the Big Kahuna,” Dunst told the New York Times. James Robert weighed 18 pounds at 4 months old. “He’s an angel, but he’s a hungry angel. And a heavy angel.”

At her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2019, Plemons gushed about then girlfriend, and the first time they met. “Immediately, without too many words being exchanged, I looked into her eyes and saw the beautiful, sweet, unguarded, welcoming human being that she is.” That year Dunst also told Us, “We’re definitely going to have a wedding eventually, but probably [a] small [ceremony] at home or something, like, really intimate, not a big wedding.”

In 2020, Dunst was nominated for best actress in a television series musical or comedy for On Becoming a God in Central Florida. “We’re treating this as parents’ night out because tomorrow we’re going to New Zealand,” she told E!. New Zealand is where they shot their 2021 film The Power of the Dog.

In 2021 they welcomed their second son James Robert. She explained she knew she wanted to have a second child when they began filming The Power of the Dog. “We would go to the grocery store, and take off our clothes and wipe down afterward. No one knew anything, it was terrifying,” she told The Times. “And at the time, I smoked, so I was like, ‘Oh my God, if I get this, I am gonna die,” she added. “I was like, as soon as we are done with this movie, let’s try and have another baby.”

In February, Dunst told the LA Times they “call each other husband and wife,” and they waited to get married due to COVID-19 and her second pregnancy. “I didn’t want to be pregnant, get married, have a party, and not be able to have fun with everybody,” she said.
