With the state of the United States, a lot of people are asking, who should be the future President? President Joe Biden still has two more years in office, but now is the time for those gearing up to run in 2024 to be making their names heard. After watching Donald J Trump in office, it seems like anyone can be on the ballot. While some of them were jokes, here are some celebrities that have threatened to run for president.
Kris Jenner
Momager Kris Jenner would definitely have the resources to run for President, but thankfully she was just joking when she announced her 2024 run on TikTok. She hopped on the “Krissed” trend, with the caption, “I’m so excited to finally announce…” The video has 56.9 million views and 12.2 million likes with thousands of comments like “This felt totally plausible,” and “did I just get Krissed by Kris?
Diplo
On July 4, Diplo shared a shirtless photo rocking a patriotic Budweiser shirt with the caption, “Dear America, u been letting me down a lot lately but I know you can always turn this s**t around…also I’m running for president. Diplo 2024.” Camila Cabello supported him in the comments writing, “I’ll vote for U.” Paris Hilton also left a fire emoji. Hopefully, for everyone, the DJ is just doing a little trolling.
Howard Stern
Howard Stern ended June with a bang announcing on his SiriusXM show he will consider running for President in 2024 if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee. “I’ll beat his ass,” Stern said. His announcement came after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. “I said to [co-host] Robin [Quivers], and I hate to say this, but, but I said to her, ‘I’m actually gonna probably have to run for president now,’” Stern said. “The problem with most presidents is they have too big of an agenda. The only agenda I would have is to make the country fair again.” The first things on his agenda would be to eliminate the Electoral College and appoint more Supreme Court justices. It’s not the first time Stern has dabbled in politics, as noted by Entertainment Weekly, he previously ran for governor of New York in 1994 on the Libertarian Party ticket, but he withdrew from the race after refusing to disclose his finances.
Bradley Cooper
While it hasn’t come from Bradley Cooper, Stern said that Cooper has agreed to run as his Vice President. “Early this morning I was texting back-and-forth with someone I was interested in potentially being my vice president when I run. This person texted me and said ‘I want to congratulate you and you have my vote.’ Very lovely conversation. And I said, ‘How would you feel about being my vice president?’ And you know what he said? ‘Done. Done. Done.’ In other words, ‘I’m in,’” Stern said on his radio show. “It’s exciting. I’ll tell you how great this vice-presidential pick is. He said to me, ‘I’m in, but you know, I’m another white male.’ And I said, ‘I appreciate you saying that but I believe you’ll be such an asset to the ticket, that I think people will understand.’” “This guy is gonna bring in the female vote like you wouldn’t believe,” he added. “My vice president: Vice President Bradley Cooper. I know, it sends chills up your spine... I told him I’m announcing it today.”
Kanye West
Kanye West ran for President in 2020 and ultimately lost, but he has been hinting at another run in 2024. In April, he released his song “Keep It Burnin” with Future, and the first verse has the lyrics: “When you run for ‘24, I bet your spouse gon’ be with you / Who put this together? Me, that’s who.” He also brought up the vital video showing Vice President Kamala Harris’ phone call to Joe Biden once they won. “We did it, Joe, but what they really do?” He rapped.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
The idea of The Rock being president has been in the media for years after the wrestler said he would consider it in 2017. The “Run the Rock 2020” campaign committee was even filed with the Federal Election Commission, making him an eligible candidate in the 2020 race. He did not end up running but there were still people wondering if he would give it a try in 2024. The actor finally put the rumors to bed in October 2021, writing on Instagram, “46% of Americans galvanized in support of me being President is so humbling and it really sits me down and I shake my head in awe. But at the end of the day, I don’t know the first thing about politics.” “There’s no delusion here. I may have some leadership qualities but that doesn’t necessarily make me a great Presidential candidate. And that’s where I am today,” he continued.
