Eiza González most defining moments: How she went from telenovela star to Hollywood sensation

González’s career skyrocketed until becoming one of the actresses to watch and Latina powerhouses

Eiza González is among the actress representing Latinos in Hollywood and staying away from stereotypical roles. Born in Mexico on January 30, 1990, the actress and singer breakthrough in the entertainment industry two years after enrolling at Televisa’s acting school, Centro de Educación Artística.

From there González’s career skyrocketed until becoming one of the actresses to watch and Latina powerhouses. To honor Eiza and thank her for her hard work and genuine depiction, we decided to list her most defining moments in the entertainment industry.

Eiza González gained popularity in 2007 after starring as Lola Valente in Mexican musical telenovela Lola, érase una vez. Eiza’s potential was evident to her mom, Mexican model Glenda Reyna; therefore, she briefly moved to New York City so González could attend acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

After completing the course, Eiza and her mom flew back to Mexico, and González rapidly put everything she learned into practice after joining the crime drama television series Mujeres Asesinas as a supporting character for the second season.

Her stunning performance continued clearing her path in acting, and the following year she secured the lead role on the Nickelodeon teen drama Sueña Conmigo as Clara Molina. For the part González moved to Buenos Aires for a year.

When filming ended in February 2011, Gonzalez returned to Mexico City and jumped on her first movie. The star portrayed Cristina in Casi 30, a comedy-drama in which she played an 18-year-old ballet student who falls in love with the film’s lead character.

González returned to the tv to star in the Televisa series Amores verdaderos, and one year after the show premiered, she moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her acting career.

Once in Hollywood, Eiza González joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s television series, From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, marking a significant moment in her career. González played Santanico Pandemonium, a role portrayed by Salma Hayek in the original film.

After filming for the show’s second season, the star landed other prominent roles, including Baby Driver, Hobbs & Shaw, Alita: Battle Angel, I Care a Lot, Bloodshot, and Godzilla vs. Kong.

Eiza’s career continues growing, and her upcoming projects include a part in Ambulance, an action thriller film directed and produced by Michael Bay. She also appears in the Apple TV+ climate change-themed anthology series Extrapolations and the Netflix adaptation of The Three-Body Problem.
