Vicente Fernández: Who is who in the Fernández dynasty?

Vicente Fernández was born on February 17th, 1940, in Huentitán El Alto, Jalisco, where his nickname became ‘El Charro de Huentitán’. He was the son of Ramón Fernández Barba and Paula Gómez.

In December 27th, 1963, Vicente married María del Refugio Abarca. There began the dynasty of the Fernández.

Doña Cuquita and Vicente Fernández had three biological children: Vicente Jr., Alejandro y Gerardo. In honor of his three male sons, Vicente’s ranch is called ‘Los Tres Potrillos’, which means the three foals.

Vicente’s children made their own lives, getting married and having children, making don Vicente and Cuquita into grandparents and great grandparents.

Vicente Jr. is the eldest child of the family. Just like his father, he is a musician, even if he hasn’t amassed the success of his father and brother, Alejandro. He is 57 years old and is the father of four children: Vicente, Ramón, Sissi and Fernanda.

Vicente Jr. is also a grandparent of four kids: Luca, Carlotta, Antonella and Emilio.

Vicente’s second eldest child, Alejandro, is 50 years old. He is the most successful when it comes to his musical career. ‘El Portrillo,’ as he’s known, has won three Latin Grammys and this year earned the Icon of the Year award, in the Latin American Music Awards.

Alejandro is the proud parent of five kids: Alejandro Jr., who is 28, Camila and América, who are 24. He had them with América Guinart, his first wife.

Afterwards, with the model Ximena Díaz, he had Emiliano, who is 21, and Valentina, who is 19.

Alejandro’s eldest son is following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps. They are his biggest inspiration.

Alejandro’s daughter, Camila, was the first to give him a grandson. She gave birth to her daughter, Cayetana, this past March.

Gerardo Fernández is the youngest son of Vicente, and he is a businessman who never pursued an acting career.

Like Gerardo, Alejandra is not interested in pursuing music professionally. She is a designer.
