Luis Miguel y Daisy Fuentes: their iconic romance and a reconciliation that did’t work

In the 1990s, Daisy Fuentes was one of the best-known MTV’s VJs . The presenter had a talk show and music videos of the idols of the moment and as expected, Luis Miguel was on her list of interviewees. In 1995 the beautiful Cuban-American was finalizing her divorce from actor Tim Adams.

It was during an interview with ‘El Sol’ that they immediately clicked and fell in love. What started as a friendship ended in romance! The couple had been dating for three years and Luis Miguel seemed very in love. Daisy appeared in the video for ‘Como es posible que a mí lado.’

The couple caused a stir when they attended the 68th Oscar Awards ceremony, in March 1996. This was one of the rare occasions in which ‘El Sol’ was seen on a red carpet next to one of his partners.

There are several rumors as to why they ended their relationship. It is said that in part it would be out of jealousy, because a year after going to the Oscars with Daisy, he went to the awards with Salma Hayek. It is also said that in addition to jealousy, Daisy wanted to take their relationship to another level, something more serious, while the singer wanted to remain single ... In 1998, they decided to end their relationship.

When Luis Miguel was asked about Daisy Fuentes, the singer said that she was a “good friend” that he had met in the middle ... and nothing more.

In December 2015, Daisy Fuentes married fellow singer Richard Marx. Since then they have been together and are very happy together with their beloved pet, a dog they adopted and named Bette Davis. Besides that, she is quite a businesswoman as she has her own line of clothing, accessories, perfumes and household items.

Years later, in 2017 Daisy broke the silence about Luis Miguel when they asked her what she thought of the bioseries, which was about to be released, she said the following. “I hope it is something very beautiful, very good and that it goes very well,” she commented to the program Suelta la Sopa. It seems that, although hers did not prosper, she does not hold a grudge against him, because she added: ”I have a lot of honey and of course we are friends. He was an important part of my life ”.
