Hilary Duff will star in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ sequel series

This time Hulu is giving green light to produce the 10-episode series, created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger

Hilary Duff is giving fans everything they want and more!

The star of Younger who recently welcomed her baby girl Mae James, is now leading the cast of a new spin-off for the fan-favorite show How I Met Your Mother.

The original CBS comedy was a total success, lasting 9 seasons from 2005 to 2014 and delivering some of the most iconic scenes in television.

This time Hulu is giving green light to produce the 10-episode series, created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who worked in the show This Is Us.

Although some details are yet to be revealed, the new storyline takes place in 2021 and follows Sophie, portrayed by Hilary, while she tells his son the story of how she met his father.

Sophie will be joined by her closest friends, as they encounter different adventures that involve romance, heartbreaks and friendship in New York City.

The creators have already expressed their excitement to bring How I Met Your Father to Hulu, adding that they are honored to be “carrying the torch forward for the next generation, and with Hilary Duff no less.”

Aptaker and Berger also stated that they can’t wait for the public to meet Sophie and her crew, “and watch them come into their own and find love.”

Hilary says she is thrilled, as she has been incredibly lucky in her career “ to play some wonderful characters,” and she looks forward to playing the role of Sophie.

The 33-year-old actress also praised the creators, admitting that “Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can’t wait to work alongside them and all of their genius.“
