Just weeks after closing her cycle as First Lady,  Melania Trump  received the White House Christmas tree in a classic Balenciaga look with which she followed all the protocols of this event with a big smile. The 50-year-old Slovenian appeared remarkably happy on the north porch of the official residence in Washington, escorted by a cadet in black masks. “Since 1966, the arrival of the White House Christmas tree has been an iconic tradition,” she commented on her Twitter account the day before the event.

The outfit she chose for this occasion reflected the classic essence that has characterized her during the tenure of her husband, Donald Trump, by trusting in the elegance of Balenciaga. The look consisted of a coat with details in houndstooth with high neck, 3/4 sleeves, and buttons. At the same time, Melania chose the star footwear of the season and the cold: black boots with a heel of more than 10 centimeters, with which she showed that they are an ideal accessory to stylize the figure, increase height and also elegance.

The First Lady spoke to the drivers of the carriage, both wearing black masks following the health protocols imposed in the new normal. Melania also highlighted her smile with her signature makeup, consisting of smoky eyeshadow, bronzer, and pink lipstick with a glossy effect. Many Internet users also noticed a slight change in their appearance, when they presented hair with blonde highlights than usual.

The trick to the boots? Wear them with a dress or coat of this type of cut, and not with much print, as exemplified by the First Lady, in order to achieve a sober, balanced and classic outfit during the fall and winter. This look belongs to the spring 2018 collection, and has the structured and long design that is always a reference for this brand. Of course, on the catwalk it was demonstrated that this coat can be given a modern and fun twist, by complementing it with pieces with vibrant prints (or even boots with floral print), in addition to turning the neck into a novel bow.

This year‘s tree, as mentioned by the Slovenian on her Twitter, is a “beautiful Abies fraseri from Dan and Bryan Trees from West Virginia.” It measures more than 5 meters and was transported in a green carriage with Christmas decorations, this to start the festivities of the time. This is one of the Slovenian‘s first appearances, after staying under the radar for a few weeks, following Joe Biden’s victory in the last US presidential election.
