Tennis star Novak Djokovic tests positive for COVID-19

From Tom Hanks to Madonna, here are all the stars who have tested positive

When news broke that Hollywood’s most well-liked man and actor  Tom Hanks  and his wife  Rita Wilson  had tested positive for the coronavirus, the world was collectively shaken to it’s core. Since then, stars like  Madonna ,  Pink  and Idris Elba have made public announcements stating that they’ve tested positive for the disease. COVID-19 has affected many families across the globe in ways they never anticipated — from  Anuel AA ’s difficulties with his grandparents diagnosis to Broadway actor Nick Cordero’s fight for his life as his wife is forced to stand on the sidelines. Below we’ve gathered all the stars who have tested positive for the disease.

Novak Djokovic

The 17 Grand Slam title holder and his wife announced that they both tested positive for the coronavirus. It is reported that his diagnosis comes after he played a series of exhibition games that had been played in Serbia and Croatia which didn’t follow social distancing measures. Novak is the fourth tennis player to test positive for COVID-19.

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson

The Castaway actor and his wife were one of the first celebrities to announce that they had tested positive for COVID-19 while in Australia. Both quickly went into isolation for medical treatment, Tom admitting that Rita had a much tougher experience due to her body’s reaction to the meds. Since then, the two have been given the clear and have donated their blood for research purposes.

Idris Elba and wife Sabrina Dhowre Elba

Although the couple has since fully recovered, the world over was shocked by his announcement of testing positive for the coronavirus. The Thor actor had been on location filming for a project when he got sick, and his wife had vowed to stay by his side despite his diagnosis. The couple called the experience “definitely scary and unsettling and nervous.”

Danna Garcia

The Colombian actress tested positive for COVID-19 three separate times. Danna, who had also tested positive for Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya earlier this year, was in disbelief after each positive coronavirus diagnosis. The Hidden Passion actress had rented an apartment to facilitate with her isolation process from her husband, son and family.

The Game of Thrones actor publicly announced in March that he had tested positive for coronavirus. The news broke sometime after the media began reporting his casting in season two of Netflix’s The Witcher. In April, the actor announced via his Instagram account that after seveal weeks in isolation he was in good health.

Debi Mazar

The Yonger actress and New Yorker took to her Instagram page to make the announcement that she had tested positive for COVID-19. The mom-of-two shed light on the fact that it was very difficult for to get tested as she was told she didn’t meet the criteria for tests. Fans got their first sighting of Debi post recovery on April 18 when she stepped out with a mask and gloves.

Upon news of his positive diagnosis, the Bravo executive took full reign of his health and followed all the necessary steps it took to reach full recovery. He took “a lot of Tylenol [and] vitamin C,” and used a pulse oximeter (with the help of his doctor). The TV host has since fully recovered and has reunited with his son.

Pink and her 3-year-old son Jameson

The superstar singer revealed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that she and her son had tested positive for the coronavirus. She stated how sometime after her family of four began their quarantine, her son started showing sypmtoms and that her sypmtoms followed some time after that. Although her husband and daughter did not test positive, she says that things “got really, really scary” for her.

Chris Cuomo

The younger half of the Cuomo brothers (his big bro is the governor of New York Andrew Cuomo) first revealed that he tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday, March 31. The Cuomo Prime Time host went into isolation in his home in an effort to keep the rest of his family safe. Since then, Chris has fully recovered.

Prince Charles

Prince William and Prince Harry ’s papá tested positive for the coronavirus on March 26, 2020. He was found “in good health” and self-isolated with his wife Camila at their Balmoral estate in Scotland. The Duchess of Cornwall did not test positive for the coronavirus.

Nick Cordero

The Tony-nominated Broadway actor fell ill in March and found himself on a repirator at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (he was on location for a production of Rock of Ages). By April 1, the actor was placed in a medically induced coma and had his right leg amputated after developing a life-threatening blood clot. By Wednesday, May 13, the actor was said to be awake and recovering slowly.

In early May, the Express Yourself singer took to Instagram and revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19 in what many deemed a very ‘Madonna’ video. In the video, she says, “Took a test the other day, and I found out that I have the antibodies. So tomorrow, I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car… and I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yep. I hope the sun is shining.”
