“JLoooooo!!”
Excitement was palpable as O brought out her glittering guest for the day.
First matter of business: the yellow ensemble. JLo brought the sunshine, her bright buttery jumpsuit spouting rays of happiness to the furthest seat as she waltzed into the massive stadium. The number was designed by monochromatic-lover Sally LaPointe.
Work it
Oprah fawned over the look backstage as JLo asked a very important question: Jacket on or off? Yes, it seems the entertainment giants were discussing fashion right before their big chat in the spotlight. Jen struggled to decide whether to wear the jacket or not, but Oprah and her trusty BFF Gayle expertly advised her to keep the jacket on, and then take it off when they sit down.
“Thank you to the astoundingly age-defiant Jennifer Lopez who came to the show in this yellow stunner and gave new meaning to the word 50,” Oprah wrote on social media.
On her ‘Hustlers’ Oscar snub
“I was sad… I was a little sad because there was a lot of build up to it. I got so many good notices, like more than ever in my career, and there was a lot of like, ‘She’s gonna get nominated for an Oscar.’ I’m reading all the articles and I’m like ‘Oh my God, could this happen?’ And then it didn’t, and I was like, ‘Ouch!’ It was a little bit of a letdown.”
On Alex Rodriguez
When Oprah asked why she wants to spend the rest of her life with Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer had a heartfelt answer ready.
“It was different than anything I had ever experienced in the sense of… his consistency,” she said. “What he says, he does. Every time. And that is big. And he also wants to build together, which I’ve never had… I’ve never had somebody who wants to see me shine and grow. I think him being in my life is a big part of what happened this year."
On her pending nuptials
Of course, we were all on the egde of our seats when the topic of marriage came up. In truth, we might as well lean back - it could be a while! “When we first got engaged, I was like ‘Are we going to get married in a couple months?!’” she candidly said. “Your old thinking comes right back, all that hopeless romantic that made me get married three times came rushing back.” However, this time she’s trying something knew: “I was like, ‘Wait—if we’re going to be together for the rest of our lives… what is the rush?’”
