She’s a talented singer, actress and is a popular face in Mexico since was a child. Danna Paola has just finished a successful season as a judge on musical talent show La Academia but there’s not much time for her to rest! On March 13 Las Encinas will open its doors again and Lucrecia Montesinos, the character Danna has been playing on hit Netflix series Elite for two seasons, will be ready some new drama in the year ahead.
Danna, 24, has admitted that she relates in her character is some ways. “Like her, I have lived all my career trying to be perfect,” she told Spanish magazine Fotogramas, “trying to be a good daughter, a good singer, an actress... And like her, I could not allow anyone to hurt my feelings, my vulnerability! That is something I took for the character.” Luckily, though, there are plenty of things that differentiate Danna from Elite’s poshest villain. When she just four years old, Danna Paola joined the cast of the Mexican version of Sesame Street, marking the begining of a succesful career as an actress. Two years later she released her first album, Mi globo azul, and soon after she would get her first main role in children’s telenovela Mi rayito de luz. Her home country of Mexico has literally watched her grow up the screen.

Although she has had a long music career and has released several albums, the first time Danna had ever released a song she wrote herself was just last year. On the track, Mala Fama, she expressed her frustations against speculations on her private life. “I am very excited but very stressed at the same time,” she told People of her foray into songwriting. “It’s like having a baby or baking your first cake, it’s something very scary but very real.”

The singer and actress shared a picture on social media with singer-songwriter Mika, sparking rumors of a possible collaboration. “When music surprises you with friends and magic people...” she wrote alongside the cute photo. He reciprocicated with the following sweet message: “Starting 2020 back in the studio in Miami and a lot of love from Mexico City. I love this girl!”

Danna Paola’s heart belongs to her little nephew Iker. The toddler is her number one fan and she’s known to post cute videos where he shows his dancing skills to the rhythm of Danna’s hits. “I love you so much,” she wrote in the captions alonside this sweet pic.

Danna and Jorge play brother and sister on the Netflix series, but their connection is such that there have been reports of a possible love story behind the scenes.
