Goodbye, Gloria Pritchett! Sofía Vergara and her longtime ABC co-stars wrapped production on Modern Family this week and things got emotional. The Colombian-American actress strived to snap as many pictures and videos as she could to “remember this last week.” And lucky for us, she shared a ton of them with the world, including a tearful goodbye video from their final day filming on the lot. “I will never forget this set, this people, there were only good times,” Sofia wrote on social media on Friday, February 21, “Thank you Modern Family.” Grab the tissues and scroll to step on set for her last day!
Time of Your Life
Amongst an assemblage of commemorative content, the 47-year-old beauty shared a sweet clip of the cast huddled up together on set watching what appears to be a performance of the melancholy melody Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) by Green Day. Sofia stands in the middle of a “Pritchett sandwich” in the video, with co-stars Sarah Hyland, Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson holding her close.
Teary-eyed
She is visibly sad at the chapter closing, crying as they all sway to the music together.
Mother-son moment
Fortunately for Sofia, her real familia moderna was on set to lend support. “Gracias to my real family for being with me today!! I luv u,” she wrote along with a carousel of photos. Her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara was among visitors, sharing various behind-the-scenes moments with fans. One captured Sofia the moment the team said “that’s a final wrap on Modern Family” and what she did was the cutest!
Emotional embrace
Sofia ran over to husband Joe Manganiello for a big hug! It seems she needed a lot of emotional support from him that day, as she shared her own photo of another adorable Jofia hug in the Pritchett living room.
Glam fam
Sofia’s boys were with her from the start of the day in the hair and makeup trailer. Both beamed with pride while watching their funny lady step into Gloria’s shoes one last time.
“THATS A WRAP!!! CONGRATULATIONS Modern Family on 11 years of groundbreaking television,” Joe wrote in a sweet post. “There may never be another show with a run like this and a cast this talented. You will be missed. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Gloria...”
Bittersweet
The sad, but grateful cast kept together throughout the day, soaking in the fleeting family moments.
Stairway to wrap
“Se nos acabó la fiesta!!!” Sofia wrote in another post, saying that the party (a.k.a. their show run) is over. “Adios stage5 ! Modern Family 11 years!!!”
