Kobe Bryant , his daughter Gianna and seven others lost their lives on Sunday, January 26, in a helicopter accident. One week after the tragic incident, the 2020 Super Bowl aired live from Miami Gardens. The legacy of the basketball player, his 13-year-old daughter and the seven others who lost their lives was not lost. Throughout the evening, the NFL, NFL Players and fans alike paid homage to the late athlete.

Moment of Silence
Ahead of kickoff, the NFL asked all of those in the stadium to honor a moment of silence for Kobe, Gianna and the other victims of the crash. During the sober start, a photo of Kobe and Gianna, as well as purple lights surrounded the stadium. Following the moment, fans chanted “Kobe, Kobe.” Players also stood on the 24-yard line in the Laker’s star’s number
Player\'s Tribute
Kansas City Chiefs Demarcus Robinson and San Fransico 49ers Emmanuel Sanders honored Kobe on the field. Both players wore cleats adorned with Kobe’s numbers 24 and 8.
Halftime honors
In a subtle, yet powerful tribute, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira took a brief moment out of their halftime show to honor the late Lakers star. In an arieal shot during one of the final transitions, a image of a yellow cross with purple lights illuminated in the middle of the stage. A nod to the Lakers colors.
Close to the heart
Ciara and Russell Wilson proudly wore Kobe jerseys to the game. Joining the host of other fans who represented for the late athlete in the stands, the couple proudly wore 8 and 24 jerseys with the late star’s name on the back.
