Mon Laferte knows how to make a Coachella debut! The Chilean singer-songwriter was met with cheers as she took to the festival’s main stage on Friday, April 12 in Indio, California. Not only was kicking off the artsy event’s 20th edition, but the 35-year-old star was also fulfilling a dream of her own. While the uber talent has been celebrating wild success as the most listened to Chilean artist worldwide, she still has more goals to meet, and it seems playing at Coachella was one of them!

"I feel so happy. I was nervous before hitting the stage," Mon told ET after her powerhouse Coachella set. "I would say it's a dream come true. Performing at these types of festivals seemed impossible and even more so when you sing Spanish songs. It's surreal."

Fan videos posted across social media platforms, show the singer putting her own spin on Dua Lipa's song New Rules in both Spanish and English. "I love her," she confessed to ET. "I never had the courage to perform one of her songs before, but a few days ago I thought why not do a cover. I would love to collaborate with her one day."

And while that sounds like a dream collab, we’re still soaking up all the incredible moments Mon made during her Coachella debut. She took to Instagram to share a carousel from the performance, simply writing: “I love you Coachella.” The festival returned the admiration, captioning a photo of her on the official Coachella account: “mucho amor.”
