Over the weekend, top beauty influencers and brands converged in New York City for the 5th annual BeautyCon, where headliner Cardi B arrived four hours (yes, four hours) behind schedule! Despite arriving fashionably late, the 26-year-old rapper stole the show with her fashion statements, having her equally stunning sister Hennessy Carolina make a special appearance, and of course, going full Cardi and giving the audience a straight up education on life.

In case you don't follow the 26-year-old rapper on Instagram, she had a big weekend—Cardi was in Las Vegas on Saturday night performing in the Kaos Dayclub/Nightclub grand opening alongside a star-studded lineup, including J Balvin, G-Eazy and Marshmello. Naturally, the I Like It singer was delayed for her appearance at BeautyCon on Sunday, leaving several of her fans desperate for the star.

She took to her Instagram to apologize for her tardiness and promised her fans a special gift. "Hey guys, I had such a good time at Beautycon," she said in the video. "Sorry for me being late. I didn't really realize that I was overbooked, like it was crazy. From getting to Vegas to over here, but we have a little surprise for you." BeautyCon founder Moj Mahdara then joined in and promised that fans would be gifted a surprise if they emailed support.
As for the actual event, Cardi arrived in a full fur suit dress paired with gold pumps and an oversized hat. Her sister, on the other hand, wore a bright green tulle dress paired with silver pumps. During the talk, Cardi gave some valuable advice on "making money moves." She revealed that she bought the copyrights to her catchphrase Okurrr and that she's not afraid to ask for what she wants. "Everyone was mad I copywrote Okurrr but these white folks do it all the time," she shared. "Every meeting I go to from a hedge fund to a commercial shoot, they ask me to say Okurrr, so you think I'm not going to be making money?"

She also made the distinction between men and women, saying "These men don't hesitate to ask and that's why they get what they want. Women be so scared to ask what we need and we're too ashamed but these men don't so?"
It's no surprise that Cardi was extremely candid during her appearance. Ahead of the event, she responded to a Twitter user who questioned Cardi's messages as a role model. "For these past two years I been watching what I say and I haven't been myself," she wrote. "I been feeling trap and sad cause it's not ME But everybody tell me … to be this "rolemodel" and guess what ? People still spit my past right in my face so for now imma be my old self again."
In other Cardi news, she's starring in Hustlers alongside fellow Bronx girl Jennifer Lopez.
