Cardi’s in the lead ya’ll! Nominees for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards have been revealed placing Cardi B in the lead with 21 nominations. The I Like It rapper is also nominated in more categories than any other artist (18 to be exact) including Top Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist and Top Radio Songs Artist. As if that weren’t enough, the 26-year-old star is nominated twice meaning she competes with herself for the Top Hot 100 Song, Top Selling Song and Top Collaboration categories.
Cardi B leads the list of nominees with 21 nominations
The mom-of-one took to Instagram to share her joy and appreciation with a clip. “I want to say thank you so much ya’ll. I remember when all I wanted to do was chart on the hot 100 Billboard charts,” she says. Cardi captioned the video with, “Sooo proud of myself ❤️❤️❤️❤️💪🏽💪🏽 21 Billboards awards nominations! Being nominated is just as good as winning to me.”

If Cardi B wins all categories, she could be at a tie with Garth Brooks, who has 19 for total wins of all time, and will surpass both Adele and Usher who each have 18. At the moment Taylor Swift continues to hold the record for most wins of all time with 23 wins. Stay tuned for who wins! All 34 winners will be revealed on May 1 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
