After nearly two years, it was announced last month that Lady Gaga and her then-fiancé Christian Carino had called off their engagement. February proved to be an emotional month for the 33-year-old as the news came just days before the singer-actress accepted the Oscar for Best Original Song for Shallow. The reason for their unexpected breakup had not been revealed, that is until now. According to Us Weekly, the A Star Is Born actress reportedly broke off the engagement because “Chris didn’t treat Gaga very well toward the end of their [two-year] relationship.”

Apparently, in the weeks leading toward the end of their relationship, the Bad Romance singer found a friend to lean on in actor Jeremy Renner which explains their recent celebrity sightings. Furthermore, a separate source reportedly reveals that, “He [Christian] was jealous. He was trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot. Her friends didn’t like him either.”
