Hollywood’s Ray Dolby Ballroom glittered with A-list stars on November 11 in honor of the ninth annual Governors Awards ceremony. While the glitzy event aimed to celebrate the work of Agnes Varda, Charles Burnett, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Owen Roizman and Donald Sutherland, there were other superstar attendees that stole the show.

Oscar-nominated actress Salma Hayek was drenched in a long-sleeved black silky Gucci number, which featured dazzling diamond brooch shoulder accents. The 51-year-old Mexican talent looked fresh faced with her hair pulled back into a tight updo.

Sarah Paulson looked scary good as she entered the affair. Donning a sleek Miu Miu dress and fitting Tyler Ellis clutch, the acclaimed actress oozed with elegance. Like Salma, the American Horror Story frontrunner also had some sweet shoulder accents on her outfit.

Margot Robbie was ever the exquisite beauty while posing for photos on the carpet. The actress wore a plunging black velvet Altuzarra dress that had floral and beaded embellishments. She added a touch of elegance with a pale pink feathered coat by Prada and jewelry by Sara Weinstock.

Emma Stone, who looked lovely in a sleek white buckled Louis Vuitton dress, was posing for event photographers when her best buddy Jennifer hopped up behind her. Despite the pair being all glammed up from head to toe, they seemed to be happy to bring the silly to the sophisticated gala.

Once inside, Jennifer, who wore an intricate two-piece Alexander McQueen gown, presented an honorary Oscar to her Hunger Games co-star Donald Sutherland. Clearly, she was still giddy from all that photobombing!
Her smile was also due to the fact that her boyfriend was her date. Darren Aronofsky and Jennifer seemed to be in good spirits as they sat at the same table and enjoyed each other's company.

Dance revolution! During a heartfelt speech, Angelina Jolie praised French director Agnes Varda, who was an honoree at the 2017 Governors Awards. While the star may have expected a hug from Agnes afterwards, she probably didn't ever think they'd do a dance! However, that's exactly what they did. The 89-year-old Varda talent broke out her moves after accepting the honorary Oscar in what was a highlight of the evening. "Tonight. I feel like dancing," Varda said to the crowd. "The dance of cinema." Angelina, who lived up to her stylish reputation in a bedazzled beige Elisabetta Franchi dress, was game for the impromptu moment, smiling as the pair got jiggy with it.

Alejandro González Iñárritu received a Special Award Oscar at the November ceremony, a prize that is rarely given out. The Academy's committee decided to recognize Alejandro’s newest venture CARNE Y ARENA (translation: Meat and Sand), which premiered at the 2017 Cannes festival. Aiming to throw "viewers into the harsh life of an immigrant,” the project is a virtual reality installation at LACMA. The 54-year-old Mexican film director and screenwriter gave a moving speech upon his acceptance of the award.
